Sparking Reflection Through Movement and Stories

As an older dancer and choreographer, I've seen firsthand how the world of dance has been confined by limiting myths and stereotypes.

One existing myth is the notion that concert dance is solely for the young and physically gifted. While youthful athleticism plays a role, dance runs far deeper than just physical prowess. It's a profound way to channel emotions, communicate ideas, spark reflection and inspire change. Often, a dancer's most transcendent performances come not from their physical prowess, but from the profound life journeys they've undertaken and are able to express.

That's why for "Fuel" I've assembled a collective of different generations with diverse levels of experience - from budding movers just beginning their dance journeys, to gifted young dancers in their physical prime and respected mature dancers carrying lifetimes of stories within their bodies. I hope to share a side of dance that is accessible without sacrificing artistic integrity.

At its core, this artistic project stems from a deep appreciation for the talents and passion for dance that God has placed within me. I see the abilities to move expressively, and to weave together stories as a gift from Him. "Fuel" is an expression of my desire to fully embrace and rekindle this gift for His glory and a way for me to tell stories that ultimately point toward the beauty and hope that is found in Him.
